Banksys appoints a new chief executive officer Vincent Roland succeeds Dirk Syx at the head of Banksys |

Brussels, 11th August 2005 – the Board of Directors of Banksys today accepted the decision of its Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Dirk Syx, to leave his position within the company. The Board of Directors has appointed Mr. Vincent Roland to take up the post of Chief Executive Officer with immediate effect.

On Thursday 11th August 2005, Mr. Dirk Syx, the Chief Executive Officer of Banksys, informed the company’s Board of Directors of his wish to leave his post for personal reasons. Mr. Vincent Roland has today been appointed Chief Executive Officer of Banksys by the Board of Directors and will take up his post immediately. Vincent Roland has previously been a member of the Executive Committee in charge of strategic planning and the Technology & Products Division of Banksys. The Board of Directors of Banksys SA and its management would like to express their thanks to Mr. Dirk Syx for everything he has accomplished and wish Mr. Vincent Roland every success with the challenges that lie ahead; challenges for which his previous position within the company has fully prepared him.

Mr. Vincent Roland’s curriculum vitae
|
Vincent Roland was born in Anderlecht in 1960. He studied as a civil engineer (UCL) and was awarded an MBA by the Solvay Business School. He is married with 3 children. Between 1984 and 1998, he occupied various positions with Alcatel and was Director of sales and marketing for Alcatel Microelectronics before joining Banksys on 1st January 1999.
