DATA ENCRYPTION PERIPHERAL (DEP)
|
|
Encryption is now a fundamental component of many business-critical processes, making the protection of all cryptographic keys absolutely essential. Banksys’ Data Encryption Peripheral (DEP) is a range of Hardware Security Modules (HSM) that fully meet the needs of both traditional banking applications and emerging markets such as e-commerce, m-commerce, e-banking, and pay TV access control. A hardware security module (HSM) provides cryptographic processing capabilities and is an essential element of IT security. DEP cryptographic cards and servers provide cryptographic processing capabilities in the e-payment sector, from PIN generation to transaction processing. Due to their interoperability, the DEP/PCI cryptographic board and the DEP/T6 server solve the issue of scalability: it is possible to migrate from a single DEP/PCI to a pool of DEP/T6 with the guaranteed re-use of existing security components. The DEP/T6 server has been designed to guarantee 24/7 operation: moving parts have been eliminated and the architecture features two Ethernet ports, two PCI cards and a non-volatile transportable storage for superior reliability and availability. The DEP/NMS software enables remote management, con?guration and monitoring of any number of DEP platforms and cryptographic modules.
