With the Atos Worldline SSL-enabled terminals, merchants can safely make use of standard Internet connections to transmit transaction details to the host. This results in reduced communication costs and faster payments.
Encryption and mutual authentication
SSL (Secure Socket Layer) provides encryption and mutual authentication between terminals and the host system. SSL is a well-established security protocol, using keys to encrypt the data for communication security over the Internet. It prevents eavesdropping, tampering or message forgery. SSL creates a secure connection between the client (the terminal) and the server (the host) over which any amount of data can be sent securely.
If you wish to use GPRS, WiFi or an existing Internet connection for payment transactions, SSL-enabled terminals are the ideal choice.
Atos Worldline SSL-enabled terminals are PTS-certified for transactions sent through wireless and IP networks.
